Women’s basketball defeats Longwood 68-50

GWU inbounds the ball Wednesday, Feb. 23 in a winning effort against the Longwood Lancers 68-50.

The Gardner-Webb women’s basketball team won for the second time this week with a dominating 68-50 win over Longwood University.

The Lady Bulldogs cruised to victory to complete a three game home stand against  the overmatched Lancers after going on a 11-0 run in the first half to bring the lead to double figures. They held a comfortable 29-18 lead going into halftime, and then broke the lead open to start the 2nd half with another big run that pushed the lead to 17.

Dominique Hudson lead Dawgs with 16 points, 8 assists and 6 steals in another dominating performance, while Monique Hudson and Jasmine Dale chipped in 10 points each, respectfully. Britani Billups lead the Lancers with 19 points and 8 rebounds.

The game completed Gardner-Webb’s non conference schedule for the year. The Lady Bulldogs (18-9, 9-4 Big South) will return to the court this Saturday at Presbyterian College.
