For the seniors graduating in May, there are a lot of plans and things to think about. Some are focused on graduate school, while others are focused on finding a job in their desired living area.

“I really want to work in the area that I grew up in because I would be giving back to the community that gave so much to me,” said Brooke Picklesimer, an Elementary Education major, graduating in May.

Picklesimer is a senior who is looking forward to graduation and the things that are yet to come. As of now her plans are to move back home with her family in Dallas, North Carolina.

“I’m looking forward to seeing my family more often,” said Picklesimer.

Picklesimer said she has a heart for first-graders. It is something special about them that she loves.

As of now there are no jobs lined up for her, but she said the job searching is fairly easy in some school systems. Sometimes there are job fairs and sometimes there are listings online, which may require some searching. Picklesimer said she would be happy at a school in any small town, but she doesn’t think the big cities are for her.

One thing Picklesimer is happiest about from her college career is the friends she made. She is also the first person in her family to graduate from college and she knows they are all proud of her.
