Gardner-Webb’s Information Technology Club will host a toiletry items drive to help meet the needs of homeless people within the community. The drive will run until Jan. 30, 2015.

This type of event has never been done from this club, but Dillon Stadther, president of the club said “We wanted to help the homeless in our community, and toiletry items are very inexpensive—especially if you go to the Dollar General.”

There are drop-off bins located in two different areas. One is in front of the cafeteria, and the other is in the main entrance of Tucker Student Center. The donations will be given to Mental Health Association in Cleveland County, which will then use the items to meet the immediate needs of homeless people.

Gardner-Webb students can show that they care by donating toiletry items that will benefit local shelters in the Cleveland County Community.

IT is a student-led club for people interested in technology and computers to come together and share a similar interest. They recently had to change their name from aitp. They were hoping to become a part of the aitp national chapter, but were unable to get things together.

The club has been established for a year and a half. There are a total of 6 members, and they often host tutoring for computer science majors.
