A new town hall is to be built within the next year in Boiling Springs. The present town hall has seen its better days. It was built in 1920\u2019s, but has had newer additions added on since then.<\/p>\n

The building, according to the Boiling Springs website, \u201cis in a state of disrepair and will require a significant repair and renovation in the near future if its current uses are to be continued.\u201d<\/p>\n

Back in 2011, there was an attempt to break ground to build a new town hall. The renovation process was discussed and later found to be too extensive and not worth the expense. The town board has recently approved a contract with Beam Construction, a construction company from Cherryville, to start the project.<\/p>\n

Tom Hart, Town Manager of Boiling Springs, is ready for the change. \u201cThe building should be ready for use during the holidays of 2015,\u201d said Hart. The town made a contract that is structured to have a penalty toward the construction company if it is not done by then.<\/p>\n

In the present town hall, according to the town website that there are three main systems that, \u201care nearing the end of their life cycle\u201d. Hart explained that if remolding would be the option they chose, there would be many regulations that would have to be met. The cons out weigh the pros in this situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe building is from the 1920\u2019s, there is no conference room, some of our offices have no windows, and the layout does not fit our purpose,\u201d said Hart. The new town hall will be a new base of operations for Boiling Springs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
