The process of finding a place to live while in college can be a confusing one. Facts can get muddled in with rumor, forcing students learn what works for them after experiencing the dorms for themselves.<\/p>\n
After having a negative experience, students often take advantage of the free room exchange period allowing them to change without paying the room exchange fee of $50.<\/p>\n
The Housing and Residence Education Office (located in the Tucker Student Center, second floor) will send a public notice when the free room exchange period has begun. This will happen prior to the third week of class.<\/p>\n
Once the room change is approved, students have 48 hours after the approval to move into their new room. If a student is left without a roommate, \u201cfor any reason within the first three weeks of any semester,\u201d according to Gardner Webb\u2019s website<\/a>, and decides not to get a roommate, they will have to pay for a private room.<\/p>\n In an effort to help students know what to expect from their on-campus housing, GWU-Today will be hosting student housing reviews over the next coming weeks. We welcome you, current Gardner-Webb students, to participate by submitting an essay summarizing your experience in the on-campus housing that you live in.<\/p>\n Essays should be 300-500 words, including your experience of where you live – the pros and cons. We will be publishing these essays as they come in.
