{"id":5410,"date":"2024-10-21T21:25:50","date_gmt":"2024-10-22T01:25:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gwu-today.com\/?p=5410"},"modified":"2024-10-21T21:27:35","modified_gmt":"2024-10-22T01:27:35","slug":"cayton-white-and-leo-andrade-named-gardner-webb-athletes-of-the-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gwu-today.com\/?p=5410","title":{"rendered":"PRESS RELEASE: Cayton White and Leo Andrade Named Gardner-Webb Athletes of The Week"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Courtesy of the Gardner-Webb University Office of Communication &amp; Media Relations<\/strong><br><br><strong><em>Players Recognized for Strong Performance in Recent Matches<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.\u2014After a strong weekend (Oct. 11-12) both on the court and on the pitch, redshirt sophomore outside hitter Cayton White from Gardner-Webb volleyball and junior defender Leo Andrade from Gardner-Webb men\u2019s soccer have been named the first Gardner-Webb Athletes of The Week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a win over Charleston Southern on Oct. 11 for volleyball, White recorded a career-high 23 kills to go along with 13 digs as the Runnin\u2019 Bulldogs grabbed a 3-1 road victory. White continued a strong run of play into Saturday\u2019s contest at Presbyteiran, recording 13 kills and 10 digs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over in men\u2019s soccer, Andrade finished as one of just two outfield players to play all 180 minutes in Big South Conference games at Winthrop and home against Presbyterian on Oct. 12.
