All funds raised will be used to provide clean water for the people in Africa.<\/p>\n<p>According to their website <a href=\"http:\/\/bawahealth.org\">bawahealth.org<\/a>, \u201cBawa is a rural village of more than 400 people in the West Province of Cameroon, Africa located about 10.5 miles to the southwest of the regional commercial city of Dschang.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gwu-today.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/image11-e1424662887148.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-975\" src=\"https:\/\/gwu-today.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/image11-e1424662887148-233x300.png\" alt=\"image1\" width=\"233\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gwu-today.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/image11-e1424662887148-233x300.png 233w, https:\/\/gwu-today.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/image11-e1424662887148.png 734w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 233px) 100vw, 233px\" \/><\/a>The BAWA\u00a0Health Initiative seeks\u00a0to\u00a0prevent\u00a0treatable\u00a0disease from killing children and families living in Cameroon, West Africa. They have multiple areas in which they are provide for within the Bawa village such as, providing clean water wells and answering\u00a0better healthcare through the construction of medical care\u00a0facilities.<\/p>\n<p>Their goal is to\u00a0promote\u00a0these health initiatives among the people and help them become self-sufficient\u00a0at\u00a0providing\u00a0better living conditions and healthcare.<\/p>\n<p>Alpha Chi Honor Society President, Charity Byrum, said, \u201cAlpha Chi will have three\u00a0main fundraising events throughout the week. Wednesday\u00a0evening, February\u00a025 from\u00a06 p.m. to 8 p.m.,\u00a0Alpha Chi is joining with other clubs and athletic\u00a0teams\u00a0to\u00a0create a Water Carnival for GWU students and the\u00a0Cleveland County Community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There will be water themed\u00a0games\u00a0for\u00a0all ages to participate in for a small donation, as well as\u00a0homemade\u00a0caramel apples\u00a0for sale and other baked goods.<\/p>\n<p>On\u00a0Thursday,\u00a0February\u00a026 at 8 p.m., Alpha Chi will\u00a0be partnering with psychology\u00a0club to host a movie\u00a0night in the\u00a0Bost\u00a0pool.\u00a0There will be a small donation\u00a0required for entry\u00a0and free\u00a0snacks will be available to enjoy during the film.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday,\u00a0February\u00a027 at 4 p.m., Alpha Chi will be hosting the Polar\u00a0Bear Splash. The Polar Bear Splash is a 4 by 25 relay race and a donation is required for entry. There will be a prize for the\u00a0winning team and only one swim team member\u00a0per\u00a0team will be allowed in the competition.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, February\u00a028,\u00a0the LOTS conference will be held in\u00a0Tucker Student Center, where Dennis Richardson, founder of the BAWA Health Initiative, will be speaking.<\/p>\n<p>Byrum said, \u201cAll money raised throughout the week will be donated to the\u00a0BAWA Health Initiative on Saturday, February\u00a028.
