Like many other traditions at Gardner-Webb, the Senior Pinning remains a staple in each graduation season. For the past 10 years, this event has given seniors a chance to share a more intimate moment with the ones they love, right before that long awaited walk.
It is a time to reflect on the last four years and all they have accomplished, before they embark on the adult world. During the ceremony, a guest of the senior’s choosing gets the opportunity to “pin” them.
More than an act of acknowledging the seniors, it gives them a chance to show appreciation to those who have made an imprint on their lives throughout their college career. Whether it is a parent, an influential professor or someone who kept them encouraged, the event is a chance to say, thank you.
This year’s Senior Pinning will be held on Sunday, April 26, at the Tucker Student Center in Stewart Hall at 3 p.m. Refreshments will follow the ceremony. For more information contact Micah Taylor Martin at 704-406-2135 or Bradley Vaughn at 704-406-4268.
