Next up is three-time competitor, Kaitlyn Sparks. Kaitlyn is a Junior from Troutman, NC.
What motivated you to participate in the Miss GWU Pageant?
I have actually participated for the past three years. I chose to do this pageant for the experience that I can gain from this. Whether it is the interview practice, the ability to get on stage and dance in front of a crowd of people (I am not a good dancer, mind you), or the ability to walk out on a stage and feel confident in myself, the value of this pageant is immeasurable.
What do you think makes you a good contestant?
I’ve done this particular pageant as well as other preliminaries before. I am a cool, calm, and collected person during a pageant and I feel that because of this I am able to help the other contestants.
What has been your favorite part of the pageant process so far?
Honestly, getting to know all of the other contestants is my favorite part. They really are the best and the brightest here at the school and getting to know them is an absolute pleasure.
What talent are you planning on showcasing during the pageant?
I am a vocalist. I honestly don’t know what song in particular I am going to do yet, which is very scary, but I am extremely excited to get back on that stage and sing again.
What are you looking forward to the most?
I am looking forward to the actual pageant day! It is the most fun! Being able to perform in front of all of my friends and family, playing dress-up, and being confidently myself is just an incredible experience.
