The 5th annual Everybody Knows Somebody 5k race, which promotes eating disorder awareness, took place this past Saturday, April 1, at 9 a.m.
In the moments before the race, the Heart of Fire Dance Ministries performed an interpretive dance representing the struggles of having an eating disorder, followed by a strong testimony from Sarah Convington.
This year, participants began the race in front of the Tucker Student Center and followed the course around the perimeter of the campus. The new 3 mile course also took the runners in a lap around the new Health Sciences building, as well as leading them around the Spangler football stadium.
Awards were given out to fastest male and female participant within in each age group. All proceeds from the 5k will go directly into treatment funds for those in recovery from eating disorders.
