Students pied for March of Dimes

March of Pie 2022

On March 23, Phi Beta Lambda and Student Government Association partnered together to host “March of Pie” in the Tucker Student Center from 3-5 p.m. During the event students, staff, faculty, and community members were pied in the face to help raise money for March of Dimes. Together the collaborating organizations were able to raise over $800 to be directly donated to the March of Dimes foundation.

“The amount of smiles was countless and the participants enjoyed the event just as much as the volunteers,” said Cyrus Richer, event organizer.

March of Dimes is a national organization leading the fight for better healthcare among moms and babies. They enact programs and resources for this community through mobile healthcare units, vaccinations for moms and babies, and through their mission they are able to help lower the preterm rate among babies.

In 2020, March of Dimes configured a factual document stating statistics among preterm
pregnancies and were able to determine that the scenarios had continued to worsen, as the
numbers for infant mortality continued to climb.

Phi Beta Lambda is a national service partner of March of Dimes and the national organization of FBLA-PBL has been able to raise over 15 million dollars since their partnership began. Throughout the hundreds of chapters within the FBLA-PBL organization and the events that are annually hosted, FBLA-PBL continues to ensure that the March of Dimes foundation remains one of the top national service partners of the organization.
