Littlefield Posted 22 Digs Against High Point, and Holmes Ran for 156 Yards and a Touchdown

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.—After posting strong individual performances on the field and on the court this weekend, sophomore libero Molly Littlefield of the Gardner-Webb University volleyball team and senior running back Quasean Holmes of the Gardner-Webb University football team have been named GWU’s Athletes of The Week.

In the Runnin’ Bulldogs win over Lindenwood on Saturday afternoon, Holmes paced the Gardner-Webb rushing attack with a career day. The Charlotte, N.C., native ran for 156 yards and a touchdown, while also making three catches for 28 yards. It was the second time this season Holmes ran for over 100 yards in a game, following his 132-yard performance in a Red and Black win against Presbyterian back on Sept. 21.

On the volleyball court, Littlefield played a major role for Gardner-Webb in games against Radford and High Point. The Rockton, Ill., native posted 22 digs against HPU on Friday before following up with 34 against Radford on Saturday, recording 56 for the weekend. It was the second time this season Littlefield posted north of 30 digs in a game, following a previous career-high 31 in a Dawgs win against Lamar back on Aug. 31.
