Lambda Pi Eta, the Communications Honors Society, held an open general interest meeting for students last Monday, September 19th.
During the meeting, attendees discussed future plans for community involvement and campus activities over pizza. Every club and organization at Gardner-Webb is required to fulfill three different kinds of activities in order to remain active: social, spirit, and service. Last year, the society participated in several on-campus events, including designing a banner for the Homecoming Parade.
“We want to have fun, because this isn’t just our club, it’s [your] club,” said Megan Dellinger, the president of Lambda Pi Eta. This year, the society is expecting to accomplish even more as they continue to reinvent themselves.
In order to be eligible for membership in Lambda Pi Eta, students must either be a major or a minor in the department. They must have taken at least 12 credit hours of Communications courses, have an overall 3.00 GPA, and have a 3.25 GPA within the department itself. Inductions for Lambda Pi Eta will be held in the spring, and a $30 entry fee is required.
